Terms of Service

Effective July 27, 2026

These Terms govern your use of CheckSong. The parts that matter most: you must have the right to analyze what you upload, our reports are technical evidence rather than legal conclusions, and the Service is in beta, so it will keep evolving.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and HumanStandard AI Inc, doing business as HumanStandard ("we," "us") governing your use of CheckSong, including the website, console, APIs, and reports (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you use the Service on behalf of a firm or company, you represent that you have authority to bind it, and "you" means that entity.

2. The Service; beta status

CheckSong analyzes audio recordings for indicators of AI generation and for derivation from other recordings, and produces reports documenting those findings. The Service is currently offered as an invite-only beta: features, quotas, and pricing may change, and access may be modified or withdrawn as the beta evolves. We will give reasonable notice of material changes that affect paid commitments.

3. Not legal advice

The Service produces technical evidence, not legal conclusions. A CheckSong report states the results of acoustic and computational analysis; it does not determine infringement, ownership, or liability, and it is not a substitute for the judgment of qualified counsel. Decisions to send, act on, or file anything based on a report are yours. Platforms and distributors that receive a report make their own decisions. No attorney-client relationship is created by using the Service.

4. Accounts and eligibility

You must be at least 18 and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your account. During the beta, activation requires an invite code; invite codes are non-transferable unless we say otherwise.

5. Your content and our license to process it

You retain all rights in the audio and materials you upload. You represent that you have the legal right to upload and analyze them — as rights holder, authorized representative, or under an applicable legal basis for evidentiary analysis. You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to host, copy, process, analyze, and archive your content solely to provide the Service, including preserving the exact audio a report describes so the report remains verifiable.

Training. We never use human recordings you upload to train our models. You additionally grant us a non-exclusive license to use recordings that are determined to be AI-generated — including tracks you report as missed detections that are confirmed AI-generated externally — to improve our detection systems. Where practical we will ask before doing so.

6. Reports and verification pages

Certified reports are issued for a specific pair of recordings and carry cryptographic hashes of the analyzed audio. Each report includes a public verification URL that serves the canonical copy; anyone holding that URL can view it. You may share reports in connection with your professional matters. You may not alter a report and present it as issued by us, and a document that does not match its verification page should be treated as unverified.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to: upload content you lack the right to analyze; use the Service to harass or defame; misrepresent analysis results; probe, disrupt, or overload the Service; circumvent plan limits, invite gating, or access controls; reverse engineer the analysis systems; scrape the Service; or resell access without our written agreement. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Detection integrity. Any reverse engineering, probing, or manipulation of the detection systems — including systematically testing variations of a recording to learn how to evade, defeat, or abuse AI detection — is strictly prohibited and will result in an immediate and permanent ban.

Batch use. The Service is provided for interactive, matter-by-matter use. Automated or batch API access is not permitted on standard plans. For batch API access and high-volume workflows, contact rasha@hsverify.com about our enterprise offerings.

8. Plans, fees, and quotas

Paid plans and per-report fees are described on our pricing page. Scan quotas (where applicable) meter detections and derivative scans per calendar month. During the beta some features are provided without charge; that is a courtesy, not a waiver of future fees. Fees, when charged, are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated otherwise.

9. Intellectual property

The Service — including its software, models, report formats, and branding — is owned by HumanStandard AI Inc and protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms grant you no rights in it except the limited right to use the Service as intended. Feedback you give us may be used without restriction or obligation.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. ANALYSIS RESULTS ARE PROBABILISTIC; WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT ANY RESULT IS ERROR-FREE OR THAT ANY THIRD PARTY WILL ACCEPT OR ACT ON A REPORT.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HUMANSTANDARD WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUES, OR DATA, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS IN ANY TWELVE-MONTH PERIOD WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE FEES YOU PAID US IN THAT PERIOD OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

12. Indemnification

You will defend and indemnify HumanStandard against claims arising from content you upload, your use of reports, or your violation of these Terms, including claims that you lacked the right to analyze a recording.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms, legal risk, or discontinuation of the Service, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive (including licenses needed to keep issued reports verifiable, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) survive termination.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and both parties consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction for misuse of intellectual property or confidential information.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We will post the updated Terms with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the product or by email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
